Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 August 2026

This policy explains what personal data Opplurk collects, why, where it is stored, and the choices you have. It covers the hosted service at opplurk.com.

Who we are

Opplurk is operated by Entity Consulting Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 15990633, with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. For any privacy, data, or billing enquiry, contact support@opplurk.com.

What we collect

We collect only what the service needs to work:

  • Account details — your email address and a hashed version of your password (authentication is handled by Better Auth; we never store your password in plain text).
  • The URLs you choose to monitor — the web addresses you add as watches.
  • Scraped page content and screenshots — the content and screenshots of the pages you monitor, captured on a schedule so we can detect and show what changed.
  • Alert history — the changes we have detected for your monitors and whether you have viewed them.
  • Billing identifiers — if you subscribe to a paid plan, your Stripe customer ID and current subscription status. Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach our servers.

Where your data is stored

Opplurk is self-hosted on our own virtual private server located in Manchester, United Kingdom. All user data — accounts, monitored URLs, scraped page content, screenshots, and alert history — is stored on that server in the UK, held in a PostgreSQL database with screenshots on the same server. Your data does not leave the UK except where it is sent to the third-party processors listed below (Stripe, Resend, OpenRouter, and Groq). We do not sell your data.

Third parties that process data

We share data with a small number of processors, only as needed:

  • Stripe — payment processing for paid plans (card handling, subscriptions, invoices).
  • Resend — sending transactional and alert emails on our behalf.
  • OpenRouter and Groq — generating AI change summaries. To do this, content from the pages you monitor is sent to these providers so they can summarise what changed. AI summarisation is enabled at the deployment level, not per account: there is currently no way to opt out of monitored page content being sent to OpenRouter (or Groq as a fallback) for summarisation. The per-monitor “AI change summary” toggle only controls whether a summary is displayed — the page content is sent regardless.

Cookies

We use a single cookie: a session cookie that keeps you signed in. We do not use analytics, tracking cookies, or advertising pixels of any kind.

Data retention

Our retention policy is:

  • Scraped page content and screenshots — deleted within 30 days of the monitor being deleted.
  • Account data — deleted within 90 days of subscription cancellation and account closure.
  • Alert history — retained for the life of the account.

Requesting deletion

You can ask us to delete your account and its data at any time by emailing support@opplurk.com from the address on your account. On deletion we remove your account, the URLs you monitored, the scraped content and screenshots we captured, and your alert history. We never see or store payment card details — Stripe collects payment information directly and processes it under their own terms; Opplurk stores only the Stripe customer ID and subscription status, and records Stripe holds for completed payments are retained by Stripe under their own terms and applicable law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. The “Last updated” date above reflects the current version, and material changes will be reflected here.
